Reflective Inquiry Cycle: Supporting the Attendance of Learners with SEND
Led by Alistair Crawford, the inquiry project will bring together leaders and practitioners from 10 schools across the city (mainstream & specialist) to share practice and explore the unique challenges learners with SEND face with regards to attendance and collaborate on innovative and proactive approaches & solutions.

Facilitated by University of Derby, this programme will utilise their expertise in research and practice around Inclusion and SEND. This is a coaching-style programme that will give participants access to advice and guidance from key professionals across the city to support you with any LAC, CIN or CP students experiencing barriers to attendance in your school.

One day 'refresher' course
Led the the Derby Educational Psychologist Team. This one day training will explore: - How to identify and understand the various factors within a child, home and school which interact to both cause and maintain school non-attendance - How to gather information for an individual student to understand the push and pull factors around non-attendance - How to co-construct a plan - How to work-with and support parents and young people along the way -Consideration of whole school approaches to prevent risk of school non-attendance
